Merge at center

Weld selected vertices at their center. Connected faces adjust to the new shared vertex.

Before you start

Enter Edit Mode and select the vertices to combine. For At First or At Last, use Vertex Select and choose vertices in a deliberate order.

Use the operation

Join a small set of vertices at a chosen position.

  1. Select the vertices that should become one point; keep nearby vertices that define another feature unselected.
  2. Press M or open Merge in the context menu.
  3. Choose At Center, At First, or At Last where available. In Edge or Face Select, Collapse is also offered for eligible selections.
  4. Inspect the joined region and undo if the merge removed a small face or shifted a feature you needed.

Controls and choices

ControlsWhat changes
At CenterMoves the combined result to the selection’s center. Use it when no selected endpoint should remain fixed.
At First / At LastKeeps the chosen endpoint’s location. Selection history must identify that endpoint; otherwise the option may be disabled.
By DistanceUse the separate distance workflow when you only want nearby vertices to merge, rather than combining the whole selection at one point.

Concept illustration. The diagrams explain the operation. Your result depends on the starting geometry and settings.

Check the result

The intended vertices should share one position and topology, with the surrounding faces still usable. Merging is different from moving overlapping vertices to the same coordinates.
