Repeat in a line

Arrange repeated parts at a consistent interval. Codex can include repetition in a scene plan.

Before you start

Use a connected Codex session for a planned row of repeated parts. Show3D's scene planning can create repeated primitives with transforms and shared materials. This guide describes that workflow; small rows can also be assembled with Duplicate and Move.

Use the operation

Create equally spaced posts, slats, or similar repeated parts.

  1. Specify the part's shape and dimensions, the total number of parts, the row direction, and the first position.
  2. State center-to-center spacing or give the clear gap and part width. For example: six posts, width 0.2, spaced 1 unit center to center along X.
  3. Ask Codex to create the row in the intended scene and group or name its parts for later selection.
  4. Count the parts and check the interval from the first to the last. Ask for a targeted spacing change if needed.

Offset per partThe repeated position increment. A zero increment places parts on top of one another.
OrientationKeep each part's rotation identical for a straight row, or describe a deliberate rotation increment.

Check the result

A row of N parts has N−1 center intervals, so six parts at one-unit spacing span five units between their first and last centers. Check overlaps separately from center spacing. The created row contains scene objects; changing one does not establish a live array modifier.
