Repeat around a center
Distribute repeated parts around a shared center. The example keeps their radius and angular interval consistent.
Before you start
Use Codex scene planning when you need a regular circular arrangement. Specify the rotation axis explicitly: a ring on the ground normally rotates around the vertical axis, while a wheel arrangement may use another axis.
Use the operation
Place repeated parts around a shared center at a consistent radius.
- Describe the part, total count, center point, radius, and rotation axis.
- State whether the arrangement is a full circle or a partial arc. For a full circle of eight parts, the angular interval is 45 degrees.
- Describe the orientation too: parts may rotate around the center, face inward, or retain a fixed direction. Ask Codex to account for the desired orientation.
- Inspect from a view along the rotation axis, then from the side to check height and clearance.
Controls and choices

| Center and radius | The first part must be offset from the center; otherwise rotating its position creates overlapping parts. |
| Count and angle | A full circle uses 360° divided by the total count. Do not add a duplicate at both 0° and 360°. |
| Part orientation | Scene-plan radial repetition rotates both position and orientation. Request compensation when parts should keep a fixed orientation. |

Check the result
Count unique positions around the ring and inspect the first-to-last gap. An unexpected plane usually means the wrong axis was chosen. A correct circular position pattern can still have incorrect part orientation, so check both independently.
