  4. Apply transforms

Apply transforms

Bake scale into the mesh data and reset the object scale. The visible shape and world-space dimensions remain unchanged.

Before you start

Select the mesh in object mode and inspect its Position, Rotation, and Scale values. Applying a transform changes how the same visible result is represented in the geometry and object transform.

Use the operation

Bake the required transform without resizing or rotating the visible part again.

  1. Open the object context menu and select only the component you need: Apply Location, Apply Rotation, Apply Scale, Apply Rotation & Scale, or Apply All Transforms.
  2. For a part resized in object mode, choose Apply Scale when you want that scale incorporated into its geometry.
  3. Inspect the transform fields after applying. Applied scale returns to 1 and applied rotation returns to 0.
  4. Compare the silhouette and placement before the next operation. Undo if you applied more components than intended.

Controls and choices

ControlsWhat changes
Apply ScalePreserves the visible size while normalizing scale. Useful before operations whose distances depend on object coordinates.
Apply RotationBakes orientation into geometry and resets the object's rotation values; its subsequent local axes change.
Apply Location / AllCan change the origin's relationship to the geometry. Do not select All merely to normalize scale.

Concept illustration. The diagrams explain the operation. Your result depends on the starting geometry and settings.

Check the result

The visible part should keep its placement and dimensions while the selected transform values normalize. Application can be unavailable for incompatible selections or active edit sessions. Check parent transforms separately; a child's normalized values do not imply an untransformed parent.
