Bevel a vertex

Replace a selected corner with a small face and connecting edges. Other corners retain their original shape.

Before you start

Enter Vertex Select in mesh edit mode and select the corners to cut back. Use a simple connected corner first so the new face and surrounding edges are easy to inspect.

Use the operation

Replace a sharp corner with a small transition face.

  1. Choose Bevel Vertices from the vertex context menu.
  2. Choose offset or percentage behavior, then use a small bevel amount.
  3. Refine the result with the Bevel panel. One segment gives a flat cut; additional segments add geometry.
  4. Inspect every selected corner and the surrounding faces before accepting further edits.

Controls and choices

ControlsWhat changes
Amount and typeOffset and percentage use different measures. Reduce the amount when neighboring corner cuts approach one another.
SegmentsControls transition subdivision. Extra segments are useful only when the intended corner shape needs them.
Vertex selectionDetermines which corners change. Edge bevel changes an edge-length region instead.

Check the result

Only the intended corners should change. Inspect narrow edges, high-valence vertices, and overlaps. If the tool is unavailable, check that the active selection is a supported vertex selection; use the edge Bevel reference for long edge transitions.
